The Mafia in Sicily
There is a leaden oyster-coloured stone. It is a
man's soul.
The giant holds the stone like a pearl balanced
between heaven and hell.

Introducing Minnie, Spinster Lady
I am folded up
a little buttercup
in the yellowing leaves
of a torn book's griefs

The Politics of Envy
Ah my uccellare,
Vettori.
You tell me of your typical day, its colour and its richness
and envy is a stiletto in me. But ah, I have my
uccellare
Vettori.

Homulus Suburbus: A Sketch
Horny yet forspent we muddle through
all at fours and at fives.

Not On
I want all done by the sharp end.

I have to get off the team
I hate the team. No. I don't
want to be told care - to beam
to cope. I want to yell: "Won't!"
I want all on the sharp end.
